Congratulations | Our Students Win Top Prize in the 2024 Understanding Contemporary China Chinese Short Video Contest for International Students

Recently, the national finals of the 2024 Understanding Contemporary China Chinese Short Video Contest for International Students were successfully held in Beijing. Four of our third-year strategy communication studentsQiu Xinyun, Chen Yongjin, Dai Huiyi, and Huang Anyao (all from Malaysia)won the Gold Award in the national competition.

 


The competition attracted nearly 100 international students from 19 universities across 11 provinces, regions, and municipalities. It provided a platform for international students to showcase their talents while injecting new vitality into the interaction and mutual learning between different cultures. Through their works, the students expressed the diversity and vibrancy of Cultural Chinameasuring with their steps, discovering with their eyes, listening with their ears, sensing with their hearts, and presenting with creative content.

 


The national finals consisted of three parts: project presentation, short video segment screening, and judges' Q&A. The contest aimed to evaluate the participants' abilities in Chinese expression, creative innovation, and cross-cultural communication. Onstage, the contestants exuded confidence and passion, delivering compelling narratives of their impressions of China. Through short video productions, they vividly showcased the rich essence and unique charm of Cultural China and demonstrated how people from different cultural backgrounds can connect through language and art to build a more harmonious, diverse, and inclusive society.

 


The four international students from our college expressed their pride and satisfaction with their achievement. From topic selection to filming and editing, every step of the process was filled with challenges. However, it was these very challenges that inspired them to view and understand life from more diverse perspectives during the creative process. They hope that this competition will encourage more people to appreciate and carry forward Chinese culture, showcasing the charm of China to the world.

 


This remarkable achievement not only highlights the talents of our international students but also serves as a bridge for cultural exchange and mutual understanding, further promoting the global influence of Chinese culture. Congratulations to the team for their outstanding success!
