The vast and enigmatic land of Xinjiang is not only rich in historical and cultural heritage but also a burgeoning hub for modern media and cultural creative industries. From December 12 to 13, a delegation led by Wang Qingwen, Party Secretary of our college, conducted field research in Urumqi and Tarim, Xinjiang. The delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with Xinjiang Radio and Television Station and the School of Humanities at Tarim University to promote collaboration in talent cultivation, discipline development, and research innovation.

Xinjiang Radio and Television Station: A New Starting Point for Media Collaboration

The research delegations first stop was Xinjiang Radio and Television Station. Accompanied by Peng Kai, Deputy Director and Party Committee Member of the station, as well as other department heads, the group toured facilities such as the 4K News Studio, 4K News Production Network, 1,800-square-meter Studio, Integration Development Center, All-Media Studio, and Broadcast News Center, experiencing firsthand the remarkable development of Xinjiangs media industry.

Xinjiang Radio and Television Station, with its unique geographical advantages and rich ethnic cultural resources, offers significant potential for collaboration. During a subsequent discussion, both sides explored the content and pathways for future cooperation and signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. The collaboration will focus on integrating culture + technology to develop innovative production capacities tailored to local conditions. Areas of cooperation will include joint Party building efforts, discipline development, talent cultivation, research and innovation, and international project collaborations, emphasizing new industries, experiences, and models to drive forward mutual development.

School of Humanities at Tarim University: Advancing Educational Collaboration

The delegation next visited the School of Humanities at Tarim University, a university located in the border region that carries the significant mission of serving national strategies, cultural preservation, and education along the borders. Over the years, our college has maintained close ties with Tarim Universitys Department of Journalism, regularly sending outstanding young teachers to Xinjiang to teach and participate in temporary job rotations, contributing to talent cultivation and discipline building at the university.

During a symposium, both sides had in-depth discussions on collaborative development in talent cultivation, discipline construction, and research innovation. Moving forward, the two institutions plan to enhance educational cooperation through initiatives such as cross-disciplinary student exchanges and joint project applications, providing strong support for cultivating outstanding and innovative talents in media studies.

This research visit not only deepened mutual understanding and communication between our college and two key institutions in Xinjiang but also laid a solid foundation for long-term cooperation in industry innovation, education, research, and talent cultivation. With the joint efforts of Zhejiang and Xinjiang, the future of this collaboration is poised to gain new momentum, and the blueprint for cultural development will undoubtedly become even more vibrant and diverse.
