From July 31st to August 10th, 2023, a series of activities of the Sino-European International Chinese Language Education Multi-dimensional Cooperation and Exploration program of the Center for Sino-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation (CELEC) of the Ministry of Education of China was held continuously at Zhejiang University. Organized by the School of Communication and International Culture of Zhejiang University and assisted by the Association of French Chinese Language Teachers (AFPC) and Ecole Chinois de Genève, the 11-day program aims to build a platform for exchanges and learning between international Chinese language teachers in China and Europe, and to explore and promote the diversified cooperation between China and Europe in international Chinese language education. Fifteen Chinese teachers from European schools and universities, including the University of Strasbourg, École Jeannine Manuel and Ecole Chinois de Genève, participated in this exchange program.

In order to let the European Chinese teachers have a better understanding and experience of international Chinese education books and teaching materials, on August 7, 2023, the School of Media and International Culture of Zhejiang University invited Mr. Ju Hui, Director of the Chinese Language and Culture Publishing Branch of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Publishing House, to give a special lecture to the European Chinese teacher group of the Sino-European Multi-dimensional Cooperation and Exploration Program on International Chinese Education. The Chinese teachers' group gave a unique lecture and organized an exhibition of books and teaching materials for teaching Chinese language and culture in Europe.

Starting from the viewpoint of international Chinese teaching materials, President Ju Hui discussed the development of teaching materials from a multi-dimensional perspective, taking into account the characteristics of Chinese teaching and learning as well as the analysis of publishing trends, and analyzed in-depth how to choose teaching materials and the development of teachers themselves, which are the keys to international Chinese education. In particular, she analyzed the application of teaching materials, taking the common Chinese vocabulary topics in current international Chinese language teaching materials as an example, and analyzed the current mode of application of teaching materials. At the same time, President Ju Hui believes that a comprehensive understanding of the concept of the textbook can help teachers to better implement the concept when using the textbook. At the same time, the process of interpreting the teaching materials is the process of teacher development, which requires teachers to constantly reflect on and improve their professional abilities.

The team of the Foreign Research Service led by President Ju Hui set up the International Chinese Education Book and Teaching Material Exhibition at the School of Media and International Culture of Zhejiang University. From basic Chinese to advanced teaching materials, from practical speaking to Chinese culture, there were especially books on Chinese culture for Europe. Ms. Tan Zige and Ms. Yuan Jisi of the Foreign Research Institute introduced the features and highlights of the book fair to the group of European Chinese teachers, and introduced the featured books and teaching materials to them. The European teachers were very interested in the books and asked the editors for information about books related to Chinese language teaching in Europe. The atmosphere of the exhibition was cordial, building a solid bridge for the international exchange of experience in Chinese education materials.
