“China-Africa Love Affair of the Post-90s”, aired on CCTV CGTN, tells the story of China-Africa youth cooperation and exchange

Youth is the future of the country, and China-Africa youth is the future of China-Africa friendly relations. from August 22nd, at the time of the BRICS Summit in South Africa, the documentary series China-Africa Love Affair after 90 Years directed and created by Zhang Yong, a researcher of the academy, has been broadcast on the CGTN Record Channel of China Central Broadcasting Television (CCTV) and Arabic Channel for the viewers in Africa, the Middle East and Europe and the United States (August 22nd to August 26th, 9:00am every day). (from August 22nd to August 26th, first broadcast at 9:00 am, 15:00, 21:00, and rebroadcast at 3:00 the next day), and the Chinese version will be launched on Tencent Video at the same time.

 

 

The five-episode documentary China-Africa Love Affair after 90s was selected as a work library of Silk Road Audiovisual Project by the State Administration of Radio and Television, supported by Zhejiang Culture and Art Development Fund and Yuhang District Literature and Art Development Fund, and co-produced by China-Africa Audiovisual Workshop of School of Media and International Culture of Zhejiang University as a professional organization, with the participation of several professional masters of the Institute of Radio, Film and Television. A number of professional masters from the Institute of Radio, Film and Television participated in the creation.

 

 

As the first documentary project focusing on China-Africa youth exchanges in China, China-Africa Love Affair of the Post-90s adopts the narrative style of China-Africa Dialogue, and narrates the stories of exchanges and cooperation between the Post-90s of China and the Post-90s of Africa from the dual perspectives of China and Africa, with the Silk Road Envoys selected as the main characters. The movie chooses Silk Road Messenger, Best Partner, African Dance, Young Leaders, African Cuisine, and African Dance, Themes such as Silk Road Envoys, Best Partners, African Dance, Young Leaders, African Cuisine, etc. were chosen to show the diversity and innovative vitality of China-Africa youth exchanges, and to make the stories of youth under the Belt and Road Initiative real, tangible, and palpable.

 

Under the leadership of a 90-year-old teacher, what kind of exotic flavors will be presented in the vast land of Africa by the symbols of Kung Fu, Taiji, Hanfu and Tang poetry ......, which are distant and mysterious symbols from China? What kind of exotic flavors will be presented in this vast land of Africa? What kind of different taste bud experience will Africa on the tip of the tongue bring to this cross-cultural food feast when Chinese youths organize the African Food Festival? What kind of audio-visual feast will be presented by the African instructor's rhythm and dance steps by gathering the power of dance enthusiasts? What kind of sparks will the cooperation and challenge across the border between the African and Chinese students who are co-hosting the New Year's Eve? Zimbabwe's Netizen Mirai and her friends will use the African photography exhibition as a medium, what kind of portrait of Africa will they draw?

 

 

Compared to other Africa-related content, the entry point of this movie is more specific, and it is easier to catch the attention of people of the same age group as well as those who are concerned about the Post-90s group. The interaction between the young characters, both Chinese and African, and their unfamiliar environment are the main attractions and highlights of the specific stories. These young people's stories, which stimulate ideas and integrate cultures, provide a powerful footnote to the countless individual practices during the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, and also provide innovative interpretations of the saying that the friendship of nations lies in the affinity of people, and the affinity of people rests in the hands of the youth. In the previous period, The 90's China-Africa Love Affair has been locally translated and broadcasted in three countries, namely CTV of South Africa, BFC of Italy and ATV of Hungary, and will be translated into French, Kiswahili, Hausa and other languages by the Film and Television Translation Center of China Central Radio and Television, so as to further enhance its international dissemination.
