CMIC’s Seminar on AI Ethics Made Its Way to the 16th IGF

Prof. Fang Xingdong of the College of Media and International Culture (CMIC) and Prof. Zhong Bu of the Pennsylvania State University jointly led the application for the AI Ethics & Internet Governance: Global Lessons & Practices Seminar. The seminar will be held on December 10, 2021 and is one of the 83 seminars on the schedule of the 2021 IGF Annual Meeting.

 


The IGF (Internet Governance Forum) follows the Multi-Stakeholder Model that aims to investigate on internet governance. It was first convened by the Secretary-General of the United Nations in November 2006 in accordance with the resolution of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). Over the years, IGF meetings have raised and clarified various issues which can only be addressed through the joint efforts of the international community.

 

The 16th IGF will be held in Katowice, Poland from December 6 to December 10. The theme of this year’s IGF annual conference is Internet United, which means that the Internet connects all users to a community and takes responsibility for its character and functions. Our shared dreams, ideas, needs and actions are key to shaping the future of the Internet.
