CMIC Ready to Integrate New Approach to Globalization and Development

HANGZHOU—The College of Media and International Culture’s (CMIC) Committee of International Cooperation and Exchange organized a conference on March 24 to discuss possible approaches to achieve higher levels of internationalization and development.


Wang Qingwen, secretary of the CPC Committee at CMIC, inaugurated the conference with a keynote speech on the theory and practices of building a community with a shared future for mankind. Wang expects increased student participation in public diplomacy where Chinese stories will be shared, and development can be achieved with more openness.

Prof. Hong Yu, associate dean of the CMIC and director of the Institute of Communication Studies, drew a blueprint for the college’s 2021 internationalization. She expressed that an international cooperative network in journalism and communication is to be set up, a faculty with international backgrounds will be expanded, academic cooperation with foreign institutes will be increased, and students will be trained to strengthen global competency.


The discussion panel following the speeches touched upon issues including the cultivating of talented professionals, scientific research, social services, and academic exchange.


To close the conference, Dean Wei Lu underscored the significance of building a community with a shared future for mankind, which is the guideline for the CMIC’s internationalization. The college is ready to integrate a new approach to globalization and development and will constantly seek to improve its education system, research, administration, and social services.
